Here’s the past few years behind the camera in one fast pass: studios I built from scratch, sets I ran, and on-camera talent I directed… broadcasters, politicians, authors, executives, musicians, and everyone in between. Their politics and personalities spanned the whole spectrum. My job was the same in every chair: earn the trust of the room, pull a clear message out of complicated material, and make something people actually want to watch. The method hasn’t changed since… take the complex thing, break it down, and solve one problem at a time.
In this intimate dinner conversation, six queer individuals gather as strangers to explore what it means to build community in uncertain times.

Maryum reached out to me through an app I’d nearly forgotten about, then just a stranger looking to explore Baltimore before deciding if it could be her next home. We sat down together at La Maison by Dear Leon, and what followed was one of the most honest conversations I’ve had about the courage it takes to follow your curiosity, push through shame, and stay open to connection even when it’s easier not to.
